Rant art is ranty. Well, at least I finished another piece for the 100 theme challenge. Maybe I'll get through the challenge this year!

This one really touches me. I know what that feels like and you've described it so well with your lines and colour. I'm not a big fan of nudity but this isn't so bad and besides, it fits. She looks so vulnerable and violated. Like, they'll strip you in the hospital. They don't a d*** about your dignity or religion, they'll even get the males to strip a female in there if you don't cooperate. Least, here in America. You make one wrong  move and they restrain you, dope you up on pills and abuse your body with foreign chemicals. And of course, they won't tell you what they're injecting into your precious body because you're "out of it, you're not there". So it doesn't matter does it? The have the corrupt law on their side.

And she's reaching for those who will actually support her, those who can actually help her. The ones who, if they'd just listen and do what's best for her, might be able to stabilize her. All the hospital is going to do is abuse and scar. It's a wretched place full of obscenities and hypocrisies.

Now, I'm not saying I can speak from experience but I do know people who've suffered from the injustices committed there. The people who are slaves of society. Either way, I understand and this piece is just so emotional to me, it really reaches deep into my own fears. It's fantastic. Keep drawing these themed pictures, they're really good. ;)

Yep. You've got the sentiments. The injustices can be in more than just the hospital but I've seen people put in straight-jacket situations in a lot of places.

The only other way I was thinking of drawing this was having her on the edge of a cliff and a team of horses were pulling her back over the top to safety while all the hands dragged her down but I couldn't fit the symbolism of the straight jacket in there if I did a pure gravity drag.

I definitely will! :) My favorite pieces to do are the ones that have stories in them, the ones that make you look just a moment longer because theres more to it than just the pleasing aesthetic.

Of course, I was just using hospitals as an example because insanity and hospitals.... But insanity and prisons and jails go hand in hand as well. The justice system here in America is pretty screwed up and what they do to the inmates with isolation and how they feed them and all the abuse they let happen, all the suicides they could have prevented. It's disgusting. Not to mention other situations of domestic abuse and political abuse you get. Yeah. Basically I get it, there's a lot of crap in the world. Real shame really. If people would be a little more empathetic we could get places faster. That's not the only solution of course. But yeah... I get it.

I see. Getting torn apart works as well. The strain both sides put on the person with the problems... You did good though, getting the meaning in there so it all works together. Good job.

Symbolism is the best, deep meanings and stories added to that symbolism make it worth my while as the audience. Plus, you gotta love different interpretations. I gotta go now, I'll talk to ya later maybe. :)

Yep, no worries I understand you were using hospitals as an example - it's why I have the straight jacket in there. It's the most common affiliation I am familiar with to execute the concept.

I've been waiting to comment until I had the times and the words. :p

This piece is amazing! So many feelings come to the surface every time I look at it. To me, it represents a lot. So many struggles. GAH! It touches my soul, and I can't even describe it. :p I just love it! LOVE IT! Cry Cry

Awwww thank you! Lots of pain came into this one and even after drawing it out it was still there. I'm not sure if it is still here or not ^^;
